JASMINE CHRISTYNE
Biography
Jasmine Christyne is a performer, creator, storyteller, choreographer, teacher, and poet in Houston. She graduated from The University of Wisconsin Green-Bay with high honors in performance, and further studies at The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland. She was recently seen in The Revolutionists (Stageworks), Sister Act (Tapestry Players), Dracula (Classical Theatre Company), Sister Act (Art Park Players), and The Light in The Piazza (The Sankofa Collective). Her recent dance credits include Women of The Northside (Adam Castañeda; The Pilot Dance Project), Mind The Gap (Adam Castañeda; The Pilot Dance Project), The Bayou People (Adam Castañeda; The Pilot Dance Project), Mix/match Festival (Adam Castañeda; The Pilot Dance Project), and Kahlo Colors (Dorianne Castillo; The Pilot Dance Project). Jasmine has a BA in Musical Theatre and Dance from She originated the role of Esther in The World Premiere musical Queen E: The Reluctant Royal in 2016, and later performed in a staged reading of the musical at the New York Music Festival in 2019. She was an active four-year participant in The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival where she placed as a three-time Irene Ryan Semi-Finalist and a three-time finalist for Musical Theatre Dance. She received Excellence in Performance for her roles of “Alison” in Fun Home (UWGB Mainstage) and “Elizabeth” in IF/THEN The Musical (UWGB Mainstage). She was also a Main Street Theater kid actor growing up. When not on stage she loves dinosaurs, Spider-Man, baking gluten-free treats, lavender flavored drinks, and making playlists. Jasmine strives to bring her most authentic self into any room she enters. She loves to learn as much as she loves to teach, and she aspires to help individuals push their creative boxes, tap into new emotions, and stay true to themselves.
