Acting for Teens September 12 - November 14, 2026 [10 weeks] Saturdays - 2:00pm-4:00pm Instructor: TBD Cost: $540 This 10-week Saturday class for high school actors combines serious technique training with an engaging, supportive atmosphere where teens stay motivated, challenged, and creatively energized. Each class begins with structured physical, vocal, and mental warm-ups that help students become more present, flexible, and prepared for performance work. Students practice technique and structured exercises drawn from established acting approaches. Training may include: -Sensory and imagination based exercises -Character exploration through physical and psychological choices -Ensemble building activities The latter part of class focuses on scene work. Depending on the stage of the process, students rehearse with partners or present scenes for guided exploration and instructor feedback. Scene Work Throughout the Course After building a strong technical foundation, students are assigned: -Scene partners -Scripted scenes They develop this material over multiple weeks, learning to: -Clarify objectives and intentions -Strengthen relationships on stage -Make specific, playable choices -Apply feedback and refine performance This mirrors the rehearsal structure used in advanced training while remaining supportive and age appropriate. Training Environment The class is rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and discipline. Students are encouraged to take creative risks, support one another, and stay open to growth. The atmosphere balances focus and enjoyment, helping teens stay engaged while working seriously. The semester concludes with a showcase performance for families and friends, where students present developed scenes and selected class work. This program is designed for students who want to grow as performers while working in a focused, professional style environment.
