Acting with an Accent September 12 - October 10, 2026 (4 of 5 weeks) [Skip October 3] Saturdays - 5:00-7:00pm (2 hours) Instructor: Magdalen Vaughn Student Limit: 10 Cost: $225 Add a powerful new skill to your Actor Toolkit with a practical, repeatable approach to learning accents. Using principles of Knight Thompson Speechwork, Magdalen Vaughn (MFA '22, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) guides students through through posture, pronunciation, accent breakdown, target accent donor analysis, and ultimately, the performance of dialogue. Class 1: Introduction and Posture Exploration Class 2: Pronunciation Tools and Accent Breakdown Class 3: Finish Accent Breakdown/Project Assignment Class 4: Review Breakdown & Dialogue Rehearsal Class 5: Dialogue Performance The last class will include a final performance that will recorded and available for you reel. By the end of the course, students will not only have experience performing with a chosen accent, but also a practical process they can use when approaching new accents for auditions, stage, and screen. * This class is for actors 14 and above. **Payment plans are available with a $100 non-refundable deposit. INSTRUCTOR Magdalen Vaughn is a accent coach who specializes in Knight-Thompson Speechwork (KTS).  She has an extensive client base in New York, Los Angeles, Texas, and the UK, and has been the accent coach for many productions here in Houston. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland ‘21 and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Chicago ‘14.
