Improv for Actors - Section A
Description
Improv for Actors - Section A January 18 - February 8, 2025 Sundays - 6:00-8:00pm Instructor: Kory LaQuess Pullam Student Limit: 16 Cost: $240 Improv for Actors is now a 12-week class, and like Acting I, the complete program is divided into three four-week sections (A, B, C). Each offers a specific focus, and all three add up to a whole. Each section utilizes a different range of improvisation exercises to deepen the actor's clarity, specificity, emotional recall, depth, and truth as a performer. Improvisation can be used as an incredible tool to access an actor’s truest vulnerability and performance. Kory LaQuess Pullam leads an exploration in how we can effectively utilize the art of improv on stage in this weekly class. *Kory is the founder of Blackout Improv in Minneapolis, an ensemble of artists who use comedy as a tool to tackle serious issues. In 2019, Blackout Improv was recognized by MPR as Changemakers for “breaking barriers and busting guts.” In 2016, Kory was named Artist of the Year by the Star TrIbune, and in 2017 was again selected Artist of the Year by City Pages (Minneapolis). * This class is for adults 18 and above.
