Musical Theatre Audition Songbook January 18 - 25, 2025 [2 weeks] Sundays - 2:00-6:00pm Instructor: Dr. Karen Rees Student Limit: 7 Cost: $240 Throughout this 8-hour workshop, singers of all levels will explore the process of building and performing effective audition cuts. Most musical theatre auditions require 16–32 bar cuts (approximately 45 seconds), so every moment counts. Participants will create two strong, creative cuts designed to highlight both vocal ability and acting skills. We will cover how to edit and refine cuts, as well as how to construct a well-organized songbook that showcases range, style, and storytelling. Bring your current songbook for individualized input and review. Those new to musical theatre will learn how to build a songbook from scratch. Singers will perform during the workshop and receive an assignment to complete between sessions.
