MUSICAL THEATRE TECHNIQUE FOR ADULT PERFORMERS June 30 - July 28, 2026 [5 weeks] Tuesday Nights - 6:30pm - 9:30pm Instructor: Amanda Martinez Cost: $360 This class is designed for performers ready to deepen their skills as actors, singers, and complete musical theatre storytellers. Through scene work, character analysis, relationship building exercises, improvisation, and vocal technique, students will develop the tools to deliver performances that feel grounded, specific, and fully alive. Training includes musical theatre vocal fundamentals such as breath support, projection, articulation, and communicating lyrics with clarity. Students will also explore how to make seamless, emotionally truthful transitions from scene into song; strengthen stage presence; and refine audition material that highlights their individual strengths. Throughout the course, performers will refine their craft in both rehearsal and audition settings, and strengthen their vocal technique, song interpretation, and storytelling. Student Pre-Requisites: Students should prepare two contrasting songs in a traditional 64-bar cut (approximately 1 minute and 30 seconds each). Selections may come from traditional musical theatre, pop/rock, country, R&B, jazz, or gospel. The final class concludes with a student showcase performance for friends and family. INSTRUCTOR Amanda Martinez is a professional actor, singer, and acting coach. She received her BM in Musical theatre from Oklahoma City University. Her training as a singer had a strong emphasis in classical music.
