SFAH Summer Film Studio Ages 12-18 July 29 - August 8, 2026 Monday - Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm Instructor: Byron Franco Cost: $436 Designed for students with a serious interest in filmmaking, this two-week summer intensive offers young artists a deep dive into the fundamentals of making movies. Led by experienced film professionals, this course will provide training and focus on building skills like script writing, camera work, lighting, editing, acting, and production management. Week 1 will dive into the fundamentals through guided exercises in writing, preproduction, cinematography, directing actors, and editing. Week 2 will focus on creating real projects created by the students with guidance from the instructor. Students will work closely with teaching artists in a focused, supportive environment that encourages creative exploration and artistic growth. The summer session will culminate in a showcase of short film projects created by the students. Ideal for students who are passionate about filmmaking and eager to train like a pro, this camp is both challenging and inspiring. Space is limited to ensure individualized attention.
