SFAH Summer Studio for Teens

Summer Studio for Teens July 6 - July 18, 2025 Monday - Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm Instructors: Jay Gracia Cost: $545 This intensive Summer Studio will engage high school students in a comprehensive program that works on acting, voice, and body. They will engage in movement classes, vocal production, music, monologue and scene work focused on connecting with the text and scene partners, and culminate in a scene showcase by the end of the program. Students will meet 9:00-3:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a final showcase on Saturday at 3pm. In their scene work students will focus on in-depth exploration of Given Circumstance, Intention, Motivation, Action, Stakes, Specificity, Visualization, Being in the Moment, etc. It is a rigorous program designed to help actors find more specificity and connection in their work. SCHEDULE Monday-Friday, July 6-10 - 9am-3pm Monday-Friday, July 13-17 - 9am-3pm Saturday, July 18 - 11am- 5pm - (Final Performance at 3pm) INSTRUCTOR Jay Gracia is an actor and educator in Houston. He received his B.F.A in Acting at the University of Houston School of Theatre where he trained in Acting, Suzuki, Viewpoints, Stage Combat, Intimacy work, and Voice. Jay is also an Actor Combatant through the Society of American Fight Directors. He is currently Head Director / Artistic Director at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy.
