Studio October Update

Oct 26
2 min read

We've had a busy late summer-fall season! We're proud to have completed the Summer Studios and give youth actors and opportunity to refine their craft through 2-week intensives. We had Acting studios for Young Performers, Teens, and Filmmaking.

On the adult professional side our Acting I classes continue to provide a space for developing artists to grow and expand their craft. Our selection of Specialty classes and advanced classes help the intermediate artist continue to find new ways to refine their skills.

We're excited for the new range of classes for fall/winter, and bringing some fantastic instructors including:

Vivianne Majkowski, Voice and Speech professor at the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance.  She received her MFA from Harvard University. She is teaching two classes this fall:

Freeing the Voice Workshop

Classical Audition Monologue class

Jonathan Gonzalez, a professional actor, director, and educator with more than 35 years of theatre experience. He has worked with companies including Berkeley Repertory Theatre, California Shakespeare Theater, Marin Shakespeare Company, and the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival.

He is teaching the Shakespeare Fundamentals course:

Mason Dowd, Mason holds the rank of Advanced Actor Combatant with The Society of American Fight Directors and holds recommended passes in all eight weapons. Mason has previously taught stage combat at the University of Houston, Houston Grand Opera, the Texas Intensive Stage Combat Workshop, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, and Pennsylvania Western University.

He is teaching the Stage Combat Workshop:

Elizabeth Bunch, actor, director, and teacher. She has been a member of the Alley Theatre Resident Company since 2006, performing in over 100 productions. She is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and has worked nationally for the Guthrie Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, Denver Theatre Center, Joseph Papp Public Theatre, and others.

She is teaching Spontenaiety: with Elizabeth Bunch

We're excited for the new offerings along with our regular classes, and stay tuned for our upcoming youth programs.

Keep training, keep learning, and keep expanding your craft!
