February is upon us and it is the start of many exciting new classes, especially many of our youth classes. From acting and musical theatre, to filmmaking, there are exciting things for youth at SFAH, and it's all getting started in February!
First off in review we had two great events to kick off the year:
Monologue Madness: 6 performers went monologue to monologue for the grand prize in this even cohosted with the Sankofa Collective. Congratulations to our winner Konnor Sheppard!
Booking the Room - The Art of Auditions for TV and Film: Our instructors Alyssa Gabrielle Rodriguez and Joe Grissafi led an exciting, educational workshop guiding attendees through the process of auditioning from both the actor and the casting sides of the table
It's exciting to see our new classes filling up as we've added more offerings and structure programs!
Advanced Acting with David Rainey - Spring
Acting I - Section A
Improv for Actors - Section A
Film Acting I - Section A

We're excited to continue our slate of youth programs and offer new courses:
Acting for Teens
Acting for Young Performers
Film Acting for Teens
The opening weeks of the year have established a consistent direction: rigorous training, performance practice, and industry relevant skill development. We hope to be one of the best resources for acting classes in Houston and bring real training to serious performers.
Progress in acting is cumulative. It is built through repetition, observation, disciplined study, and opportunities to apply technique in front of others. Our work this month has reflected that philosophy, and it will continue to guide our programming in the months ahead.
